Hi Case! The best thing I can say about your game is this!

:D

I started playing with a keyboard, and got stuck in the final part. Then I tried with a pad and finally :D.
I'll try another run for sure, trying to collect all coins!

The music was nice. I'm easily "annoyed" when a simple melody is repeated over and over, but you have combined perfectly the up and downs, changing melodies and intensity, so every time the song is repeated, it feels fresh! Also, the style of the song fits perfectly with the genre.

The level dessign was awesome. Seriously. And the difficulty curve was perfect.

The art was simple but effective. I specially liked the animations of the player and the variety of platforms.

And the controls/feel is awesome.

I can't say anything bad about it. Maybe, IMHO, I would like if I could have played it with the analogue joystick (my 360's D-Pad is working bad since day one (sometimes I press a direction and it don't work), so I think it would be nice if you consider to add that option. But it's a minor thing :)

If I'd had this game on my gameboy, I'm sure it would be one of my favourites. It like a Super Mario meets Celeste (the spikes reminded me some kind of platform in Celeste)

I still have to play a lot of games, but at the moment, is one of my favourites of the jam. Specially in terms of fun!
Sorry, I talk a lot.
I had a great time playing it, so thanks :)

Thanks Suzuka, that's some lovely feedback!
I knew I'd forgot something! I'll remember to have analogue controls next time :D

I've noticed a couple things while I was playing.  Firstly once you complete the game with all the coins and go through the restart door, only one of the coins actually comes back, specifically this one https://imgur.com/Qr2Ptmg

also it seems as if the coin that is in this section... doesn't appear if I already have 19?

Ah yes! you're right, a few little hiccups here and there, thanks for pointing them out! I'll be sure to fix them soon!

In fact, I'm very tempted to make this into a bigger game with rewards for actually collecting coins! And to have enough time to iron out a lot of things, I appreciate the in depth play through! :)

What a fun game.  Your level design is top notch.  Seems like something the speed runners would love.  The difficulty is nicely tuned, although I did find some parts needed flags to be not so far away as it's a real punish to topple 4-5 screens back at times.  Music is also nicely placed.

Great job overall though.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, it does get pretty difficult in some areas, I'll keep that in mind for the future :)

I don't know how you get the time to do these when you are working on Flynn, but it was a real nice entry.  Your skills in implementing high levels of polish is impressive, and envious :)

I'd love if you could look at my entry, Porter, and give some advice on improvements as I follow you on Twitter and respect your opinion greatly. Cheers.

Thanks Peter, that means a lot! And absolutely, I'll give Porter a go very soon and drop you some feedback. :)
