Love this one! I love the idea of a semi-procedurally placed LoZ:LA-style dungeon format. I also like the use of color palettes to make the shift to level 3 even more striking. Plus I'm a sucker for minor resource-management systems, and the use of the blood as health regeneration and upgrade gathering is a welcome addition!
What I liked the most it was the weird aesthetics, I love when people take one step forward and try to make different things from normal! The rest is also very good! Well done!
PS: Feel free to try my game out! Cheers!
Nice little game! I loved the graphics. My only complaint would be the difficulty, it felt a little unfair at times. But nice game!
Lovely look, lots of gears going in it and a lot of potential with that, but it still has quite a bit going for it even now.. Best I got is level 3, once going left, then going right I think, both rooms having bosses I believe.
Best of luck with this!
Really nice! Pretty and I love the creepy vibe. The creepy text when you interact with stuff is really cool.
One minor trick I would recommend is some invulnerability frames when you get hit, especially when your character has a delay between attacks (the bats drained all my hearts except once in under a second by bouncing me around, one of the bomb-looking fella almost did the same thing by pushing me into spikes).
This game is aesthetically great, I love the way the visuals and audio come together to create such a unique atmosphere. The little two-legged guys in particular are my favorites!
And now I've come back after having beaten the game, and getting a shit-load of good items. My favorite item (thematically) has to be the knife-shaped beans.
The only things I'd say I was left wanting was some means of fast travel between previously visited rooms and a list of what items I've picked up.
I really liked the last color palette too, it felt like an appropriate tone for the final two levels.
