this game was a real surprise. I thought it was going to be simple blackjack and stuff like that but the extra moves and characters really add a charm, strategy and variety to the game. the graphics are really well done too. Good job!
Thank you! And thanks for playing :)
So I played this game but there was a problem. I know nothing about Black Jack. And this game isn't beginner friendly to people who have no idea about Black Jack!
But I have a bunch of things to say even though I wasn't really able to enjoy the game in its fullest. The game feels a lot like the GB Pokémon games, both in battle and in the overworld, which I love! I also really like the art and the sound! It also seems to have a good bunch of content, which, again, I couldn't really experience because I couldn't go too far, but it already gave me the idea only by playing it for a bit!
All in all, it's a really nice experience! Great job. :)
Thanks for the feedback! I agree, there should've been more guidance for people who don't really know Blackjack, sorry about that! Thanks for playing :)
It's the third game I see in this jam, that has a battle system that revolves around another type game, almost like a game within a game, which is very interesting. Also it's very well executed with the addition of pokemon style, really makes this something else. Well done!
Thank you! And thanks for playing :)
Haha, we both made a Pokemon style game. You used black jack as a battle system, I used data and paper :) I like the the special moves. The bitcoin joke at the end is funny.
I think if you can add more variations of the enemy, the game will be more interesting to play. The window size of web version is tiny. (I am using Safari on MacBook) It would look better if you can scale the window 3 time bigger.
I couldn't find all the enemies. The last room (the 4th?) have 2 enemies but I couldn't trigger a battle with them. I am curious about the ending.
Thank you! It looks like you encountered a pretty annoying bug there too, I'll try to find and fix it tomorrow, sorry about that! And next time I'll make sure to make the game with proper scaling so it's a more comfortable size.
Thank you for the feedback and for for playing :).
I like the idea ! It's almost like pokemon 'but for adults' ahaha. I would propose giving those who got 21 their attacks do critical damage to give the number a bit more punch, although as one previously mentioned the frequency of the opponents getting a 20 and a 21 might need to be toned down a bit. It's a very solid and interesting concept though !
Thank you! Pokemon for grown-ups is what I was trying to accomplish, so I'm happy to read that! I like your idea about crit damage, I agree that if I do that I should lower the odds of getting a blackjack.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Aw man blackjack as a battle system! That's a super unique idea! Great job! :D
Thanks! And thank you for playing :).
Interesting concept! A mix of pokemon with solitaire. Congratulations on the idea. I missed a "battle" song. I swear I was listening in my head to the Pokemon track! It would be interesting to put the character back in the battles.
Congratulations again.
Thank you for playing and the feedback! I agree, I wish I took more time to do a battle song.
This is the best submission I've ever played in this jam :>
Thank you, that makes me very happy especially considering the quality of your own submission! :)
I enjoyed the battle, but the opponents are so much lucky, every two moves they get a 20 or 21!
As the coffeemuggames said, the movement on the map could be slower =]
Thank you for the feedback! I really should've explained the strats in the game. You're totally right, the AI plays as optimally as I could make it in time, so it will get 17-21 or bust.
The trick to beat the AI is to cheat with the "special" moves (the AI cannot cheat). For example, if you cheat by splitting once and the AI busts, you do 3 times damage.
Great graphics and fun concept! :)
The movement on the map was maybe a bit too fast...
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! Sorry about the speed :).
sure thing :P
Please make sure you also play and rate my entry ;-)
Neat little game; be sure to check mine out!
Thank you for playing, will do for sure!
