It reminds me a lot of those old tiger games or an old Atari game. I wished the ship could keep moving if I was holding down the button for movement as rapid tapping keys was a bit of a pain. definitely playable though.

I played in browser. I'm not sure if you had actual keyboard controls programmed, (I don't have arrow keys on my keyboard, so if you did, disregard this line), but I didn't care for clicking the placed on GB overlay to control the ship. Otherwise, the main survival mechanic felt fine. Definitely felt some tension as the levels went further, but I'm not sure if it was tension from the enemies themselves, or because I was struggling with the controls.

I agree that the ammo bar made this an interesting take; taking out multiple enemies with one shot felt really good too.

Nice job!

Cool little game, I like the need to tension with the ammo mechanic, the need to make the most out of each bullet and to go after ammo on the map. i did run into a problem though, sometimes when the aliens appear, they can appear right on top of the player ship, killing you instantly.

it brakes complitly the jam rules you know. there can be only four colors on the screen at a time. im afraid you wll have to remove the game boy from the game and leave there the game it self.

Actually, I just checked with the jam host and you can use borders around the game, (only if the engine won't let you resize the screen, which scratch does) You can see the full chat with the host in the jam comments of my game. Although, the controls you can click may break the jam rules. This is kind of iffy... I would message the jam host.
