The idea of controlling the boss is surprising and super cool. The game works very well and the art is magnificent. It's hard to win but it makes you want to start again and you are perfectly in the theme. GOOD JOB !!!
Thanks for the feedback NC65. Actually it's impossible to win, BOSS always die at the end ),:
The art is GREAT
Also when I found out I was the boss I literally screamed at my computer "WAIT WHAT!"
Everything worked right too. Loved it!
Thank you!
The role swap worked well with you!
The text was saying "Press enter to play" but I had to press space.
Then, I didn't realize I was controlling the boss, and I was spamming attacks on it :D
After I realized what was going on, I played this like 4 times in hopes of defeating "the hero". Got up to the green form (the one after the black one, if there's an order -- or like 6 heroes in if there isn't).
Every aspect of the game is really polished, but it was kind of a bummer there wasn't much gameplay with the hero.
Good entry, overall!
We will fix the enter/space mistake!
The color are random :P
I think the role swap could have a bigger impact if the player spend more time with the hero.
Thanks!
Neat idea, but lacked response, and giving the player direction. The role swap had no cue, so I thought there was an animation playing for longer than I like to admit. Art was extremely polished.
A very nice little experience. I really liked the fitting name of the game as well as the art. The perspective swap threw me off a little in terms of knowing who I was controlling but thematically it was super cool. The controls were a little janky to start (as you expect from game jams) but soon enough I got use to them and they felt fine.
Thanks for the fun (:
I really like the visual style, it looks clean and polished. The gameplay itself feels heavy, the character has a very long acceleration time, I really wouldnt mind this if this could be somehow explained (if the character was really fat and with large mass). There is no way to tell how much health the player has. After getting to the helmet part, I was a bit confused about the controls, only to later find out that I was playing as the enemy that I thought I was supposed to fight. This kind of abrupt perspective shift really needs to be handled more gracefully. There was also no way to tell if I was making progress or not fighting the player, so it felt like I was doing nothing. Some visual or audio feedback to progression would really help. As for the theme, I think it adhered relatively well since it included a dungeon of some kind.
But more importantly, give the player feedback for anything that should be meaningful in any way.
I totally agree with you about the lack of feedback for the player. Assets for life bar was ready but I was short in time to add it. We need to find a way to be more explicit during the role swap. We thought we could reverse the camera, because player often play the character at the bottom of the screen... But we want the player to be a bit confuse and surprise.
I didn't expect remark about the character acceleration time, I will check that and try to improve this aspect.
Thanks for the feedbacks!
I Love this game. Its short, but works well. I think it could be a fun multi player game, and work well with local co-op. The movement was a little so when i was controlling the demon(?) character though, but it didn't take away from the experience
Thanks Notjosh_17 ! As you we thank about multiplayer for this game, we will maybe work on that :)
