Should I even bother if I know I'm not going to hit some of the categories?

I like joining game jams for fun, so I'd like to do this for the challenge, but I don't really program with something that uses graphics and audio currently, and I am doubtful I'd be able to learn to use those in time. I'm more posing the question as to if it is preferred that if it won't have these I shouldn't join, and if you're fine with not having those, I'd love to try the jam, if not, I'll leave it be.

You don't have to worry about hitting all the categories.
The most important thing is your game should be fun to play and should follow the theme.

There is no compulsion with what your game consists of except the ones mentioned in the rules.

So feel free to try out your skill.
