Really cool idea! I had a similar idea but for a visual novel instead, but decided not to do that because my sound design is horrible. Glad to see that someone can do the no video idea justice :)

Thanks! Wow, it'd be interesting to see your take on a visual novel without video. I understand the feeling of trying to avoid basing your game around sound design since it's not my comfort zone either. It also eats up a lot of your time if you want to do it right, but we liked the idea so much that we decided to risk it :P
I'm glad you say we did the idea justice, it could be done a lot better, but I'm proud of what we managed to do as well, especially since I was sceptical of the concept and our skills to pull it off from the start.

Btw; don't know if you've seen it, but Komorebi tried the "visual" novel without graphics approach, not the same, but you might wanna check it out :)

Ok, I'll check it out. Thanks!

Really cool concept. Using a soundscape works really well, giving a great feeling of immersion and horror. Shows how reliant on sight we really are. Only thing is that I wish turning produced a small sound so you can tell when you've moved beyond the sounds in your ears changing.
Definitely play this one with headphones.

Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the concept :)
In hindsight I'd definetly agree with you that a turning sound would be welcome. We were thinking about implementing such a feature, but were a bit scared of it producing too much auditive noise and distracting from enemy sounds. If we expand on the project, such a thing would be at the top of our list!
