The I like the mechanic. Could have been done in a different style and it could have worked better. It was really hard to see the enemies or objects to attack.
Cool game and I really like the sound of the bullet as it flies around the map. It is hard to control as another comment mentioned and because of that it's hard to catch the bullet as well. I would say your goal of making the game trippy was a success.
Thanks for the feedback, IM working on a new version with tighter controls and ill prolly release it after the Gamejam voting. (Holding SPACE brings the bullet back to the player)
Oh shoot I totally missed that, this changes everything!
I think the whole "one bullet that you can make come back" mechanic mixes really great with the Asteroids. The visuals do however become very distracting and with the camera position combined with the very floaty controls makes it really hard to play. A little tweaking and i think this could be a very fine game indeed.
P.S. if you've not heard of it already, I highly recommend you to play Hypospace Outlaw. I think it's right up your aesthetic alley. :)
It's on my wish list.
You're not wrong about trippy! Haha, I dig the trippyness. It's rather disorientating though and difficult to control. I like that you shoot and then call your bullet back, like a boomerang. It's satisfying to take out enemies while your bullet is flying back to you!
Yeah The controls are too drifty, the player doesn't have a max velocity and steering is too hard, but I don't want to fix it cos of the whole gamejam thing and it feels like cheating.
Yeah I think that’s the nice thing about game jams, now we can learn and move on and not worry about it anymore.
I really like the aesthetic and the main mechanic is cool, but since it's so hard to aim and move I had trouble feeling like I was doing anything
Thanks for the feedback, yeah I am starting to see it's too loose and drifty, but I kinda don't want to fix it because it was made in a GameJam and I feel like its cheating a little.
