Good take on the subject!
An open-source, telnet-based roguelike written in Rust? I think I've just had nerdgasm :D
Sadly, when I've tried it, I've entered the world where there were no monsters (perhaps someone killed them before?) and no exit, just plain floor all the way through (I've scrolled right for quite a time). Still, it's a great concept, I think you should take it further, I'd definitely spend some time playing such a game :)
Oh, and feel free to check out my take on the roguelike genre, which is also happens to be open-sourced: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/460262 :3
I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong, managed to connect after some research, the client you provided didn't worked for me (win 10 64bit), went through the windows prompt, spammed for more than two minutes the L key, absolutely nothing encountered then the exit, it said "one down" then it disconnect, tried to connect again, finished the same empty level again, and it disconnected again.
Our games have the same name ^-^
:-) I figured that might happen. Yours looks great! Hope you don't mind sharing: if so I can try to pick something more uniquish.
