I've played a few time to your game, and the last one ended by :

Error  cards.lua:152: attempt to perform arithmetic on global 'insideman' (a nil value)

Traceback  cards.lua:152: in function 'nobility' battle.lua:130: in function 'mousePressed' main.lua:28: in function <main.lua:25>

[C]: in function 'xpcall'

The concept was kinda opaque as someone already said : I'm not even sure of what I'm doing after having played it a few times.

Maybe a little bit more of informations and explanations about the card's power and usefulness would have been very helpful for us to understand how to play and finish the game, because I didn't quite well understood the explanations of the differents cards in game.

I had a good run, but died in the end.  I like the core conceit of have 1 card and 4 ways to use it, but I feel like the outcomes for spending cards in different places could be more interesting.  Perhaps the cards need a little more information on them to help inform the player as to what might happen, and allow the player to plan how they might use them.

The game did run for me, unlike the others, but unfortunately it's...a little bit opaque as a game.

Not all card effects are clear, even after playing them, to start with. Not all places I can play a card are equal and I don't know what many of the values mean.

"Fear" is explicitly explained by the directions. Okay!

"Funds" are explained as well. Also okay!

But what is "Heal" (or heat? the font is kinda wonky)? What is connections? What is the diffrence between "Corruption" and "Corruption?" About the only card I was 100% sure on is that drawing death always kills you.

Thanks for the feedback

I'll explain some of this in case your curious(though this doesnt justify that I'll explain some of this in case your curious(though this doesnt justify that It wasnt explained in the game)

The cards have a side to flip onto where you can see the In game story justification, though unfortunately I never implemented the popup that would show the effects when hovering over sphere of infulence because I lacked time(not a justification, just explanation)

I'm glad that I at least got fear and funds explained, they would have been so confusing otherwise

Heat-The trouble you are in with the authorities, if this rise above fear you risk getting jailed

connections-An unimplemented feature that would give you better cards if you level it up

The difference between "Corruption" and "Corruption?" is a question mark, I dont even know where you found this but it'll probably break the game at some point.

Game doesnt work

Have you been launching with itch.io app or downloading and unzipping?

I dont know if it makes a difference  but I have only tested the itch.io app launch
