Fun game but It would have been nice if each random level had at least 1 solution.
Nice concept! The idea caught my slightly off guard when I died to white, but the game being not standing on a tile that contains the colour red in producing it is a clever little concept that could be well adapted into an educational game or a game teaching about RGB or Hex codes!
Very cool concept, did you think about working on it further?
Not sure about this one. I'm working now on another puzzle/strategic game for iOS/Android that have to do with aircrafts management. And because I'm self-taught, it's really hard :-) (touch detection, resolution detection, etc.). I promised myself I'd finish it. In order to gain experience.
Interesting concept. But the execution could do with some tweaking. It is pretty much luck if you get a level you can do, but if you do so, it is rather trivial to pass. It is pretty much impossible to judge whether a level will be impossible in so short a time, so maybe all levels should be made possible. As to the difficulty: maybe you could change the step lengths from 1,2,3 to 1,3,5. That way you actually need to think about lining yourself up with your chosen path. Also the theme of only one is a bit iffy. But the idea shows promise, and with a bit of improvement I'm sure you will be able to make a really nice puzzle game. Also maybe consider going 2D.
Neat idea, but I think the execution could use a bit more work. Mostly it generating impossible levels. Maybe also having the levels generate themselves once and not having the player stop the generation on a level would help, but that would be something to experiment with.
Also I think it would've been better to use primary colors (Red/Blue/Yellow) as bases instead of computer colors (Red/Green/Blue). I always think of color mixing in primary colors, and had to always remember that, for computers, yellow is a mix of red and green, instead of mixing red and yellow to get orange, and blue and yellow to get green.
Also, not too sure how well this relates to the theme of the jam. The title is "Only Red Causes Death", but you immediately subtitle that with "Only (that which contains) Red Causes Death", which means that not only red causes death. There are then 4 colors to avoid in the game, which is not 'just one', as the jam theme indicated.
I do think this could be a neat little game if it was fleshed out a little more, however.
Thank you for you comment. You're right about the computer colors. Not so user friendly :-).
The game generates a lot of impossible puzzles (stretches of 3+ red-containing stripes).
It could also benefit from a better explanation, as it was initially confusing.
Very cool concept!
Yes. I don't had the time to do a function that generate only possible puzzle. Thank you!
