Core idea is a little bit barren. Some other things could be done, like:
-Changing the weak spot.
-Boomerang set in flames, and you should run away from it.
-Statues as minions, or used as health boost for the boss.
Also, the weak spot can be hit several times in a row. It could've been used as a risk vs reward case (example: if you miss the weak spot, the boomerang could be thrown back at you). Or a small cooldown can be added.
The walking animation while holding the boomerang was so charming.

I LOVE YOUR ARTWORK! Tough with the time limit, but its really fun!
Sick animation and music! The game is a bit simple and I would like to more enemies to beat. The collisions are sometimes a bit strange. But great job.
How was the player supposed to figure out the boss's weak spot? Also, were you expecting the player to fail to dodge at some point? I found out from the other comment here about the effect of getting hit.
I beat it 2nd try, but out of sheer luck.
That art is just mindblowing. Music is awesome too! Gameplay would be pretty average, but that clever death mechanic made it for me :) Good job!
fellow boomerang themed game - Art is amazing, so polished. interesting idea using your death to sort of block the boss in. well thats what I did anyway. Great job!
