The controls are well balanced, i agree going fast feels better, but i believe the rocket spins a too slowly, the faster you go the faster you would need to change direction, and since it spins quite slowly you can't really go that fast rn.
Very effective design, would love to see some attractive points, would make things less a straight line and it could be a great way to bring more difficulty if you add more levels rather than just having to go faster or being ultra precise
Thank you for playing and the feedback!
Yeah, increasing the speed would need the rocket to spin faster too. When I was play-testing it myself I was taking things nice and slow without considering what would really be fun.
I already plan on updating and adding to the levels. I figured I would just start with a few to keep it a short experience at first.
Yeah, focusing on gameplay rather than level design is a good choice, if the gameplay is well polished making more levels should be way easier than if you have to fight against the gameplay to make the level work
I am so into this! I love a one button game, worth considering making a touchscreen compatible build.
Controls work well, and the graphics make it nice and clear where you are and where you're going to go. It might be nice to visualise the momentum somehow (an engine trail maybe?).
I feel like the level design is at it's best when the ship is moving fast. Perhaps you could introduce some mechanics to encourage this (starting momentum, homing enemies, time limits etc.?)
thanks for the kind words and thoughtful feedback!
The game definitely lacks a threat to encourage the player to get to the end of the level quickly, and I think that's a great idea!
Super challenging and a great implementation of the theme!
Thanks for playing!
