Quite an interesting concept. The few criticisms I have are that the dots as a visualizer are a bit hard to understand and there being only one level. Maybe having a "input" bit set and an "output" bit set with gates in the middle would help out with the visualization?
Thanks for feedback. I'll try to improve the input bit field. I'd love to include more levels! But sadly, that deadline got me!
Man, so geeky, I enjoyed it through, killing the Biter and getting the ultimate treasure :) The only thing that I found weird was that dots above numbers with next/previous bit mechanic. Perhaps you should consider swapping it with just the "n-th bit flip" operation, or something alike. Still, I'd like to see more of that, please carry on the concept. Oh, and I love the pun in the title :)
Btw, feel free to check out my humble attempt at roguelike genre: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/460262
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I decided to use such mechanic where you accumulate bits instead of having all bits shown at once to somewhat closer adhere to the theme. This way you have only one "one" (bit) at a time in your input field, I might change it if it becomes inconvenient.
Your game is nice! I'll write more in your comments
hard to get into but very unique concept!
Perhaps you're right. I was planning on including more explanation about controls and binary in general but couldn't make it in time!
Very unique concept. Not a lot of content, but still very unique and a lot of fun. Would be interested in seeing more of this in the future.
Thank you! I've tried my best to include more content after the main systems were in place.
