I took some time to understand everything but, when I did, I loved it! Really cool game, I started to strategize what kind of block I should link with other to create a better structure, and I thought I've made the better structure ever, that came the wind and my house killed me so fast hahahaha very funny, creative and well done game! :)

Thank you for your feedback!

I love the little blurbs when you lose at the end, and the open-endedness of it increase the replability.  It does seem like the blocks are blown/moved around irregardless of the material they are made out of. Additionally, limiting block rotation to something like 45 degree increments would improve the building experience. Overall nice job.

My building skills ended up killing Jim most of the time, I guess that was a disaster as well. This game is very charming, and really a lot of fun, one of the jam entries I spent most time with so far. Some feedback:

  • Using a trackpad, it’s hard to rotate to 0 / 90 degrees, found it very sensitive
  • I have no idea what the different blocks represent. Wood, metal, rock? What are their effects on the disasters?

I think this could be a very fun game if further developed.

Great job!

Thanks for your feedback! You are correct. I should have indicated the block types somewhere in there and lowered the rotating sensitivity.

I have a soft spot for physics games. If that wasn't obvious from my entry.
So i'm a little biased when I said this was one of the best games I've checked out this jam so far.
I will say that I find it a little unfair that jim gets damaged if he changes rotation, as there were multiple scenarios where jim's mightly fortress of solitude was defeated cause jim fell over and then was on very very little health, then something sneezed on him and he had a good name.

As a 48 hour gamejam game, I'll say this, menu could have used a little more polish, but it was fantastic overall.

The game would have been great if we could build more precisely. Definitely a good idea !

Cute art and physics! Unfortunately I did best by not building anything at all, as there only appears to be one disaster which can harm Jim. Definitely lots of potential to play with! I'd be interested in seeing more attach and build mechanics, something to try to make a more stable shelter and see it get destroyed by the disasters!

Developer

Yes there are only 2 disasters that can harm Jim directly. Maybe I could have added trees or other objects already in the scene that would fall on him in windy weather or earthquake.

the overall idea is pretty nice :D I just don't think it fits the theme too well. I had fun tho
