I also agree that it would work better if the player would keep their speed when changing direction. The difficulty curve is also very harsh, so more levels that ease the difficulty would be nice too.
Interesting concept. I feel that it would work better if your speed wasn't so slowed down by changing direction. That way you can build up more speed and go more out of control.
Other than that it looks good and plays well, the timer means you can't "brake" all the time by changing direction so you have to try and go fast!
