I won the game. It was nice that you had voice acting in it. I think the game play loop was good. I might go for a simpler look and focus on the combat if you revise or continue making this game. Maybe some different projectiles and some more simple graphics could be used in the combat part to improve it. Also a hold down to shoot may be a cool feature to add too. Congratz on the entry.
Yeah, get out of here Darkness!
I don't mind a little bit of storytime with my game jams.
Was it intentional that the enemy movement was also joined with your own?
The ‘following’ behaviour is part of our attempt at AI. It tries to be at some sort of average of its own previous position, a goal at either side of the screen (it can switch randomly) and the center of the players’ position.
The art was amazing and the story was interesting. Tried a couple of runs with different decisions until I died.
So, I think the actual gameplay is not bad, but it was really poorly presented. I think you went overboard with the dialogs and menus and I would have preferred for you to spend more time on the shooting. I have no idea what to icons at the top left were, I think there were things that I was acquiring as I progressed but their meaning was unclear.
The shooting was annoying because I had to press the mouse all the time, and basically as long as you spawn the mouse button, you win(kind of easy). There was not much challenge.
Next time, I would recommend going for simpler graphics and icons, make sure you communicate the function of things so that players can get into it easier. I almost gave up, cuz i was confused.
Good luck!
good job :D
