I think this game has a lot of potential especially conceptually but the controls and feedback of the mechanics feels really off, I didn’t feel like I was really playing the game to be honest, the visuals and music are great however, I would try to improve on the gameplay a little bit more :]

This could be a really great rythm game, but the problem is when there's lots of arrows your shield just keeps bouncing around, but overall a solid idea :)

feeled good plaing it, keep it up after the jam!

it feels like undyne's fight but backwards, very good idea but the controls are very wacky

First round it wasn't clear to me why the shield moved by itself. But then i got it. After that it was nice. I like the rythm game field and the art and it really was enjoyable!

I'm glad to hear that you like the game!

I am sure I have played many games like this before BUT to be fair, its never playing as a shield and its never descending down.

I will say though, I hated those god-awful animations but at least the texturing is pretty good and the font matches the game asthetic, well so long as you ignore those arrow symbols taken from the typeface Century Gothic which is used in the help menu...

we don't have anyone who can do animations, so it looks pretty shabby XD. Glad you like at least some part of it.

Reminds me of the Undyne fight from Undertale. A problem with the concept of moving away from the arrows is that when there are a lot of arrows, your shield starts spazzing around and you feel like you have no control.

I like the idea and it has a story supporting it so it feels immersive. Art and music are also great, it would be good if you've had made drawings for buttons as well, but I'm assuming you ran out of time.

Problems: I took me a minute to figure out that I can only move the shield away from an incoming arrow (this is me with only info from the game itself) - you should show button prompt to dodge an arrow when you can, you can just spam every arrow key and be invincible - you should maybe make it that there are less arrows incoming but you gotta time it right so if you move away to early the shield moves back in front of the arrow.

Thanks for your suggestion!! We thought about it but don't have time to do these:( We'll try to improve when we can!

You play as an evil shield! Push the arrow keys on your keyboard away from the incoming projectiles to hurt your hero!
