ok this was surprisingly good! i saw a lot of games where you scale objects using guns. but the platformer with momentum approach is unique! I am a bit Celeste fan myself and the momentum was really spot on. also HAIR PHYSICS!
only thing i got stuck on is the level with the large gap and deflecting platforms. didnt understand how they help me pass the gap. but still i had fun up til then.
good job!

Also if you want to check out my brother's game, its here: https://aviv-youker-harel.itch.io/scales-of-olympus

I'm really happy to here you say that!!! I am a huge fan of Celeste and definitely took some inspiration from it, and I took a long time to make the physics just right. I'm also really glad you liked the hair physics  they were difficult to make but I think they were worth it!!

About the level with the deflecting platforms, I definitely should have given them tutorial they do need some explanation, basically if yo make yourself big you can run fast but cant jump high,  likewise when your small you can jump high but cant run fast. so what you have to do is turn yourself big, run up to the edge and then shirk yourself until you become tiny as your jumping, to preserve your momentum and launch yorself to the end.

Also I played your brothers game and its absolutely great, I already left a comment on his page about it but its definitely the best game I've seen all jam

Objective not so clear. There is a bug or feature that propelled the player off screen, couldn't do much after.

Maybe that is how it is meant to be played.

Hey, congrats on the game! If you want to move forward with it, try to make a camera that follows the player around and try to design levels that are not so spaced (unless you have a good reason) - so that players have a glance at what they need to do and they don't suffer with the monitor size thing o/
Good job on the mechanics and jumping around with the boxes was fun 😅

Game looks good, but uhh is there more than just the one block that be shrunk/enlarged? lol

Developer

Assuming you got stuck on the first level, there are more blocks in the right wall. If your not playing in full screen you cant see them though

I am playing on Full Screen, though I am on a 16:10 Monitor which could be impacting it

Developer

Ya I just tested it with a simulated monitor and unfortunately it seems playing it with a 16:10 monitor breaks the game. Sorry
