The whole game gave me Inscription vibes, awesome work! The deck building was a little slow at the beginning, but I understand that it had to tie into the theme of dice, which was an excellent take on it!
Yay thanks alot ! :D Inscryption vibe is what I was going for, glad you like it.
I gave it a shot too, and second what Morse Goat said. It was hard to understand the rules or what the end condition are. I was rolling to heal and attack, but couldn't observe any health on either the player character or the opponent. And clicking the cards does make a nice effect, but since the opponent doesn't draw cards, I wasn't sure clicking them did anything other than exploding.
-I went back to play, and it seems the rules are you roll the dice to collect the cards. After you have 5 cards you can end your turn. Then the opponent does the same with the dice rolling and then card collecting, then you fight. I won by simple MtG rules, and then completed the game. Rolling the dice almost seems superficial to drawing the cards and just looks like it slows down gameplay. -
I also kinda like the first person view, but it's not obvious at first that you can move the mouse to the boundaries to move it from the stock view, to get a better idea of the cards you have. You also can spin your head like the Exorcist at least left. I notice you cannot move your head up and down at least! And the glowing eyes is pretty cool.
Other than explaining the rules, other things you can do to improve it, if you're going to go back and do so, is:
Sincerely great effort, and I'd love to see it with just a bit more polish if you can and want to!
Thanks a bunch for playing ! Yeah, I realize now that its not clear that attack is on the top left of the card and health is on the bottom right. And yeah ending turn and waiting for him to draw slows it down a bunch, I plan to update it so he draws as you draw but you dont see his card stats. Other than that, thanks for liking and yeah, your improvement points, noted ! :D
Looks like I'm your first commenter! I'm not really into card games and I'm still not sure what the rules are, but I like the atmosphere and the idea of playing cards against a monster in the dark. I think there needs to be some kind of fail state when you discard the entirety of your deck? (I got myself into that situation because I didn't read the explanation properly on my first playthough. ;-))
Yeah you are ! :D Yeah I didnt specify the rules clearly. No theres no punishment for discarding the whole deck, u have 10 cards in your deck and the point is to make the strongest hand before ending turn. If u have 0 cards in deck you just have to end turn and fight. And rules are that when you complete your hand, the monster gets a turn to roll their hand and after combat, the most stats average wins. (so its more random/fun). Meaning only 1 strong card can beat 4 weak etc. Thanks for liking the atmosphere and playing it :D
