Well, I think you could definitely start with a simpler first level, haha! Pretty complex, original tactic mechanics, I'd love to see this game more polished and with a better difficulty curve. Also, just an idea - maybe somehow link the attack areas to the shape of the pips?
The UI could be confusing, but I think this is a really neat take on the theme for the gamejam! The concept intrigues me. Its a bit like Into the Breach where you can see the enemies planned movements.

Very unique idea that has the foundation of a cool puzzle/strategy game! This is one of the most unique takes on the theme I've seen haha good job!
Controls were a little confusing and sometimes numbers would display on top of each other, but it was a 48 hour game jam so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
