Hey very unique idea you got here! I'm wishing I saw more games like this doing the jam. I don't think I've actually seen another Tower Defense game yet...
Cool concept. I like how you shoot out dice and then it pops open with its tower depending on the roll, like the shooting one and the blade. I could see something like this being more fleshed out and being a very big hit! Cool designs with the dice too.
Unfortunately I didn't get super far in it. Not sure if it was the game or it could have been my old laptop I was using to play, but the game did feel pretty slow and sluggish. Again could have just been me, but I only played 3 rounds. Also, and maybe I'm just getting lazy, but I almost didn't due to the exta steps due to the installer. With other games being super easy to load through their web version or the itch.io app, made this one a bit trickier. Just wanted to note that!
Otherwise very awesome design and great work on this!!
Hi SwornCoyote!
Thank you for the feedback! We did have the idea of a tower defense like game from battlebears and bloons TD, and came up with this concept which was pretty lucky of us to randomly have that idea come out of this!
Our designer did a great job! We appreciate the feedback you gave for him as well!
It is fair that the game is pretty slow, as we were trying to figure out balancing and spawning closer on the last day, which we do plan on improving! Soon there will be a web version available for users to play right here on itch.io. We hope that you will try out the game again after our next future updates!
Best,
Camaro
Great and unique idea, and on top of that a great art-style. Only things I'd wish for would be audio and maybe a bit more action-feedback, like screenshake. One thing that I didn't really like was the long reload time, maybe you could bind the reload time/ammo to enemy kills? But other than that I absolutely see the potential for this to turn into a great game if you decide to continue working on it
Thank you Lucky44! We are going to definitely move ahead in the future with this game to implement those features as we were under a smaller time constraint. When the new updates for the game comes out, we hope to see you again to try Risk Rolled again for a whole new experience!
It looks very cool, for sure! And a defense game on a game board that's pretty cool. But lack of audio really detracts from it. And there were no direct visual cues that you were taking damage unless looking at the health bar on the top of the screen. The game is very short, and doesn't feel very fair because the time in between shots is so very long. And encyclopedia or something which showed which dice did what would be nice as well. I saw an occasional nuke, but the spinning blades which seemed to be the best, would wait the longest, I think taking up one of the available slots. Some indication of that would be nice.
I'm also not the biggest fan of having to use the installer, but the game is not added to the Start Menu nor is there an entry in the Uninstall Program for Windows.
Hi Znart!
Thank you for your feedback! We did also want to implement audio and visual cues into the game but had JUST ran out of time. We do hope that we can extend the period of gameplay and add in a submenu that allows users to be able to understand which numbered dice did what ability. I did forget the uninstaller XD still under the process of learning how to use Install Forge at the moment. I hope that in the future you will be able to come back and enjoy the product of the game.
Best,
Camaro
I completely understand! The game we made certainly could use improvement, and the idea of the feedback is pointed towards what else could be done without a limited timeline to make it better!
