How does your submission match the theme?
The theme of the JAM is "Dual Purpose Design". So, I made a game that is all about shooting. With the click of your mouse, you can both kill or die.

You have to dose the shooting to keep enemies away and stay on the screen at the same time, because the kick of your gun is a pain in the ass. It's a game about balance, in which everything revolves around the shooting.

Very challenging game. I included it in my Game Maker Toolkit’s Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Played for like 20 seconds and then quit... because this game is that amazing and it was about to make me laugh hysterically in a public area. The way that the first click sent me shooting off the stage, instantly conveyed everything I needed to know about the challenge of the game. The title made sense when I read the description, but when the music kicked in, everything clicked. Inspired choice by the way. I came back to play later and plan to show this to a lot of my friends. If the kickback was toned down just a teeny bit, I feel it would be a bit more playable. A+ for the shotgun sound choice too. I could not stop smiling as I typed this review. That was awesome.

That's an awesome thing to read, NayN64. Thank you very much! :)

Thank you for the comments, guys :)

Yes, as I said before, the game has a hard learning curve, so... you are definitely not going far on the first few tries! :D

You have to first get used to the controls and feel the game, entering the rhythm and then you are ready to DANCE!

Now, in the game page you'll find a video of me playing it.

I liked it, it's really hard at first but the controls are intuitive, and it looks amazing.

Too difficult! Couldn't get past the first few enemies.

i would die everytime i clicked start, the sound effects were on point though

I suck at this game, but I like it. I bet it'd be much better to control using a dual stick controller. The WASD keys don't give enough degrees of direction compared to the mouse. Of course, that's not really an option for an html game.

As soon as you click to start, you shoot making you fly off in a direction. Then since the edge of the map just kills you I died repeatedly. Moving can stop you, but since I can't tell exactly where the ship is going to spawn before firing it was inconsistent on which way I would soar off towards before dying. Tone back the forces and the game could be pretty fun, but as it stands it's more frustrating.
