Short description of the game
We examine the space and distance between individuals. What constitutes the experience of loss? How might the five stages of grief manifest as a spatial or embodied state?

Development Process
We had the initial idea of making a game that explores our emotional and mental space. Then something amazing happened, all of us had the same idea to explore grief and how it affects us.

We met over 3 days and talked for hours on end online and decided to show the five stages of grief as five different in-game levels which the player navigates. We translated our emotions of what each stage means to the art and sound, as well as the gameplay mechanics.

Finally with a bit of coding magic we weaved the ideas together and submitted 'The Space of Loss' to the jam!

Did you work in a multicultural/multilingual team over different time-zones?
Yes! Our team was quite spread out over three countries and two continents.

Soham and Hasib worked from Lisbon, Portugal
Amir worked from Montreal, Canada
Roosis worked from Helsinki, Finland.
