Jammers, we are approaching the end of the jam! We already have 28 entries and that’s amazing!

This is a little reminder to tell you to make sure your itch page looks nice. The first thing people will see is you itch page, so please, make sure it looks good!

Few points to keep in mind:

  • Add screenshots! It can also be gifs to showcase specific features
  • Write a short description of what the addon is about
  • Include a “how to use” section if needed. You can also remind people on how to install an addon.
  • Add a clearly visible link to your sources (GitHub, Gitlab, whatever) It’s best to put the link directly in the description as it’s easier to see.
  • Include a license! Especially useful for people that want to use you addon in commercial games. GitHub helps you choose a license if you need.
  • You don’t need to put your addon in the asset library (but feel free to do it if you want!)

This addon page and this one are a good example. They are simple but effective. The cover is a nice screenshot with the name of the addon in big.

Happy coding and see you soon in the submissions 🙂

Hi! Thanks for running the jam.

Just as a piece of feedback: the only place the apparent requirement for open source code was mentioned was in the submission dialog (not the "rules") which made it rather unexpected.

Oh yeah sorry it was not clearly stated!

It’s a requirements for addons on the Asset Library and it makes sense for an addon since you’ll have access to the sources anyway.

I may have stated it in the announcement video but it should have been in the rules, sorry about that!
