Hey this was a fun little game, good job putting this together! The gameplay interactions felt a little clunky for me at first, but eventually I got the hang of it. It sometimes felt odd being that moving into a square was how an enemy attacked you, so took some getting used to. But once I figured out the rhythm of the game movement I enjoyed playing through the levels! Nice work!
That last level was pretty tricky! It took me a bit to get the hang of it, though I think mostly due to the enemy AI not always working how I expected. On one hand it seemed fairly smart, so kudos for that, but I think it also threw me off how they seemed to be able to wait for me to move but not the other way around. It created some interesting predicaments though, so maybe it would have just been nice to be told that explicitly at some point.
Regardless, great job!
Hehe I did want the last level to be a culmination of all the mechanics so I'm glad you enjoyed it! This is also my very first time coding enemy AI, initialy the enemies of weaker colours were supposed to flee from the player but due to time constraints I couldn't make it (that and it would require me to remake every puzzle again!)
Initially the enemy AI only killed you when moving away from you, but it didn't make sense to me that, if the player is weak to an enemy, that the enemy just lets them approach and doesn't do anything on their turn! I'm happy enough with how it turned out!
If I do get around updating the game I do intend on explaining that better in the tutorial levels, anyhow tysm for playing and for the descriptive feedback! :D
Cool graphics. Also like the audio a lot. Great job :)
Thank you so much for playing, I'm much more of a music person that pixel artist but I'm glad you liked it nonetheless!
Nice game! Interesting use of the wildcards to create clever puzzles.
Thanks for playing! Really happy you found the puzzle clever despite the time constraints!
That was very fun and sweet once I got the hang of the rules !!
