Fun.  Cool premise. Seems a bit easy?

I didn't understand the 2 second delay on drawing cards. At first I thought the game was bugged, or I hadn't met some requirement for refilling my hand, then I realized it was just a short delay on drawing cards.

I could see this being developed further. I love a good creeping expansion game.

Interesting concept. Having worked on projects that require robust pathfinding solutions, I respect that you were able to complete this within a game jam timeframe. Pathfinding is no joke lol.

Biggest complaint I have is that there wasn't really anything preventing me from reaching the goal except for the time it took to draw the right cards. As far as I can tell from a single playthrough, the enemies don't really do anything except attack your hosts. One of them wandered past my unguarded infection site at one point but didn't pause to attack or otherwise hinder my expansion.

All said, this is definitely a place you could build from if you wanted to expand the game. Creating more hindrances to the parasite's expansion, allowing deck customization/some form of meta-progression, procedurally generated levels, etc. would all contribute to making the game feel fuller and more rewarding.

Congratulations on completing the game jam and keep up the great work!

Very Interesting take, Would of never of thought to do a card game. Would be interesting to see this concept developed more. I liked the idea of the cards but Imo think the Slime should do something to enemy units as my units died and I just had no reason to infect/couldn't infect. I also couldn't move? everywhere I clicked  never allowed me to so I didn't quite understand what I was doing wrong with that. I also think if you made it more like a round based system could make the cards a bit more impactful or just have a card added to your hand ever x seconds instead of clicking. But I think the idea overall is really solid and think you could develop this to be a good mobile game

This was an interesting idea. I liked the audio and the pixel art.

It took me a bit to understand exactly how to play the various card but once I got the hang of it it was pretty straightforward. There didn’t seem to be a lot in the way of trade-offs, I pretty much just drew cards until I could spread and periodically moved my troops to attack and infect others. But I never really felt like I needed to do anything other than plot a relatively straight course for the goal. I feel like with one more degree of freedom to create some trade-offs though, this could be pretty cool.

Nice job!

Thanks for the comment! I totally know what you mean. I was hoping to add a few more things to make the choices meaningful but sunk a little too much time into the behaviour tree and card system 😂

Ha ha, I totally know how that goes. Still, nice job for your first GWJ!
