  • -Very classic caravan-style with similar secret bonuses, destroyable tiles, etc. and it's pretty damn cool. Fun to play for sure -But some Shmup Creator limitations I imagine? Waves don't seem to actually spawn right after the previous one was cleared? Still enough things to keep you busy thankfully -Chain/multiplier mechanic might be there just because Shmup Creator has it, it seems a bit shoehorned like in all Terarin shmups for example -Lovely music! Feels great when you start the game and are greeted with those sweet tunes. Visual style is nice but some things are not as high quality like chara artwork or the sparse BGs. Props for having OCs and your own game world though -I took a look at the presentation video for the complete game and holy molly there are so many characters and ships whoa. It's gonna be a challenge to make them all fun and interesting to play in their own way, best of luck for that! -Player shot might be a bit slower than ideal, nothing truly bad though but you still wanna fix this -Medal collection hitbox might be a bit small. The numbered medal items themselves seem a bit tiny overall -Restarts take wayyyy too long without instant restart option. There's like a million screens to navigate to do another run. They are quite handy and cool the first time, but not as much afterwards. Imagine starting a run, taking a stray hit at the very beginning and wanting to restart, and thus have to wait another 30 seconds or so (Like 6 times as long as the time you actually played on that botched attempt) to get another chance. Absolutely insane. -Giant rainbow disc that insta rams you should maybe have had no collision hitbox. It's awkward being insta killed if you're in the wrong spot at the wrong time -For some reason, the snake Fast Kill and the Steady Breakout messages spawn on top of each other -Default power seems bad, why is it even in the game? -Is it me or is vertical movement faster than diagonal movement? Maybe the shot low speed is playing tricks on me Despite some of the odd quirks and the engine limitations, it is an excellent entry!

It’s gonna be a challenge to make them all fun and interesting to play in their own way, best of luck for that!”, that’s going to be for CHOUNIJIDEN: Wonderful Skies, the core shmup of my shmup project “MagiColor Heroes Shmup Project 1st Season: Project Kulayan-Z”.

Gameplay is definitely strong for this submission. One of the things holding it back is its long intro before the gameplay actually starts.

I don’t mind about the long intro. The long intro I made is just for something else. For context, I have plans on what to do next with my game after this game jam. So anyways, thank you so much about how strong the gameplay is.
