Ranked from 3 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

Briefly explain your games interpretation of the Pacifist theme?
INFO: The version of this that was submitted in time for the Jam has very little functionality and is mostly just a shell, it can be found in the windows_v3 zip.
There's not much to play in it, but if you're bored you can give it a shot, see my first comment.

I'll be packaging a fixed Post-jam version later that includes the stuff I had to cut to get it done and non-buggy, but that's not relevant to the jam/rating.

CONCEPT:
Tower Defense but you're selling people stuff!

Several possible game mechanics exist that relate to the genre but does not need to involve violence:
Building the "maze" that customers traverse
Types of interiors to build can differ in range or rate they lure customers, much like the towers.
Types of goods to sell, or special deals etc, to add more tower-like mechanics.
Customer "health"-equivalent can be either their wallet or their carrying capacity.

Original plan was to have two main modes, "build" at night where you design the store, and "work" during the day where you stress around to handle the following:
Help customers at check-out, don't let a queue bulid up
Re-stock shelves/bins with goods, you better hope you have designed your store well enough to not have to run around too much!

I too thought that the game wasn't working, but it was just the mouse starting in the top left corner making me instantly scroll camera north west without me realising it!

I really am glad you submitted still - and that you took the time to convey your idea in the details section! Despite lacking the gamification, a lot of work went into this clearly! The UI and grid system was really cleanly implemented, I particularly liked the pop up menu and how you click the centre bit to cancel. We ended up placing things down to make as wiggly a path as we could to delay how long it took the little AI to get from start to finish!

It looks like an interesting concept! I'm not sure if it's just a little too zoomed in or claustrophobic feeling with the mouse-movement OR if whatever error my computer threw about graphics drivers upon running this led to me not getting the right resolution. Some UI indication of clicking on blank spaces would help, since my first instinct was to click the arrows (once I made it back from my trip toward the top left). Unfortunately, the game crashes (sounds like one of the disks in my laptop is spinning for its life for a change, rather than just the fans, while the game's up) before I can do anything more than click the indicated upper right corner once, so I can't provide any real feedback on the placement or choices. But it is interactive, so well done!

For an interaction test, I quite liked the potential of what it's supposed to be!

In the beginning I was confused since  the screen was going up left, apparently it's because my mouse started top left and I assumed there was going to be a menu screen. It was too far for me to go back so I had to restart. Would probably prefer keyboard for map controls over mouse! This way the player can focus on selecting a tile and type of building on a separate control instead of also moving the map!

Good luck with this!:)

Current version is an older build that worked, will look into package issues with the latest version tomorrow.

If you're trying it out in this capacity, it's more of an interaction test than a game, but feel free to give it a spin if you want!

Click / move mouse to interact and build/sell etc.
Press Enter to spawn a random customer (weighted towards small ones)
