Briefly explain your games interpretation of the Pacifist theme?
I translated a health bar-based game in the form of supposed 'conversations' where you type out your character's thoughts and words to the person you're establishing rapport with
or in simple terms, type words to get past people by filling up a satisfaction meter
How much CODE (text or visual) did you make?
You created most of the code - but re-used some chunks of code
How much of the game's ART did you make?
You created all of the art assets seen in game
How much of the game's SOUND effects did you make?
You created all of the sound heard in game
How much of the game's MUSIC effects did you make?
You created all of the music heard in game

I was having a bit of trouble, so I studied a really nice typing game tutorial for godot here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRPI_c9qI1o
In terms of sound, I only used BFXR for the sound effects, but for the music, in terms of VSTs I made use of LABS free drums and tape piano, dsk acoustic guitar, and a really neat typewriter vst called Keywriter!
All art was done in aseprite:) The palette I used is Sparkle's palette: https://www.pixilart.com/palettes/sparkles-palette-140
Did you enjoy the jam? Is there anything you'd change if you could start over?
Yup! The theme was very interesting and I made several drafts of what I thought could be fun for that theme!
What I'd change is continuing the original story-based game I had in mind. The plan was to use Laura's visual shader there as like an anxiety meter while you try to type out dialogue in a conversation and that it gets more intense as you make mistakes.
Also I'd lose my flu earlier if I could so I could have implemented it😫
Aren't you awesome for being creative and taking part?

Really liked the visuals and music!
Game was fun, I felt like the idea was well thought out and despite the fact that I am a terrible typist I had fun.
Good Job!
(On maximum easy mode) I got to talk to 69 people! It was really fun, rather challenging to a good degree; probably you don't want it to take as long as I did as a decent typist on easy, but I liked how many of the words I got to see. If only I could grow up to be kid-friendly, lucrative, easy-going, well-backlit, and humane.
The help/tutorial especially was great to introduce the special challenging characters. And those named/faced characters were a great way to keep the rhythm of the game engaging. And speaking of rhythm, I love the music track. Definitely turned down the sound effects so I could keep my volume up to enjoy it.
This was very cool! I only got 9 people before I reached Laura and I couldn't do it with the words disappearing. I liked the sounds and pixel art. Cool entry! I will try again to get further!
Lovely style of game! Typing games are often fun, I think this one felt pretty good to place. The colouring on the words helped me track where I was. Some slight unexpected behaviour when it would target a different word than I intended if both started with the same two letters. Also sometimes if you are trying to finish a word right at the last second, the letters you type at the end of the word (if too late) can start off a new, unexpected word.
I really liked the two characters added, and can imagine this being more engaging with more characters like that. Could also be interesting if you had to be selective about what words you choose, to match the people. Like avoid rude / negative words, for example.
Thanks for taking part in the Pacifist Jam! <3
Love the art and gameplay! My only complaint is that I feel like the difficulty should ramp up more and quicker. I'm a pretty good typer and I feel like I could go pretty much forever without losing.
Great work! Very fun and well polished
I suck at typing game, so only got 9 people and than failed at Laura. =D
The pixel art is very nice, the color palette definitely helped to make it feel coherent. Compliments on doing all the audio yourself. Fun game!
Thanks so much! Been trying to hone my skill on the art direction of my games recently. Appreciate the compliments!
I love typing games and this one is really good as well! One thing tho, when words overlap it's hard (at least for me) to read them. Like the game overall!
Also try our game!
Definitely noted on the overlap! I thought it was nice adding the color on selecting and increasing the z-index, but it became a bit difficult from time to time still! MIght try to figure out a way to rework it in the future!
Really nice game, I love the vibe (music and visuals), which also fits perfectly with the game typing mechanisms. Laura and Flynn are a nice addition, I was eagerly awaiting my encounters with them each time!
Glad to see the art side well-appreciated! Wish I got a 3rd character or even 4th and 5th in for extra variety! Glad they assisted in increasing the replayability:)
casual game but good tho
Such a fun casual game! Gets me riled up whenever I miss a word, or get to the harder characters. I think my highest score was 38 :)) Very impressive that you did all the assets and I really like the concept of a typing game in a school setting where everyone seems to just want to talk to you.
Thank you so much for trying it! Good job on getting up to 38! Would've polished the assets more if I weren't sick! Thanks again for trying it!:)
This was so much fun and the I love the art style!
thank you so much! I've been experimenting a lot lately and I appreciate knowing that it's being received well!:)
I got 9 people DEEP! looking forward to covering this game again in the future
thanks for trying it out! saw your stream too! Laura must've been really tricky!
OH heard! I'm glad you got to see it :D
