congrats on winning :D
Wow! Simply, wow! Writing journal each day thinking about a monster getting close, and finally to find out the crazy side of a mind, it is exactly what covid isolation did to me! I can so much relate to this. The only different is that I didn't get to cause genocide, even if its all in the mind :-)
Do you plan to extend the gameplay after the jam?
Thank you for such a wonderful comment. Yes I plan to extend the game with more chase scenes after the jam is over.
Incredible music score, and nice visual effects. You gave a nice touch to the Covid situation and people getting crazy in the process, due to isolation.
The sudden transporting to weird places shows how the mind of the player is slowly playing tricks on themselves. Also, the creepy entity chasing the player, I liked that part. You could have added more levels like that. It would have given more gameplay. That reminds me of the game 'Ao Oni', which I liked a lot.
I think there was a bug with the ladder, but it is ignorable.
Overall I liked it. Kudos.
Thank you for playing! I would definitely like to add more chase scenes, once the jam is over. And thank you for pointing out the bug with the ladder. I will fix it post the jam.
I really liked it!
There was a dark humor. And the white room reminded me of Matrix - Neo and Morpheus.
Jumpscares were good too.
The best part of the game was Music. I will play it again just to listen to those soundtracks.
Thank you so much for playing!
Thank you so much for the gameplay! I hope you enjoyed it!
The first thing that catches your eye is the lack of a specific direction for the game. Judging by the poster and menu it's a horror game, but when you turn on the game it feels fantasy and mystical. I think sticking with just one direction will help build a stronger foundation for your game. When I was trying to accomplish a game objective, I didn't understand what I needed to do or why I was doing it. Try to create a specific goal for the story and gameplay and build off of that, it will help make the narrative more consistent and strong. I also recommend not creating large open spaces without hints, it's easy to get lost in them and lose intuitiveness. The latter is very important, if the player doesn't understand his goal and where he needs to go - you are unlikely to be able to keep him for long.
Thank you for your feedback!
This is meant as a surreal psychological horror rather than your everyday horror. It begins with a normal room (probably giving a mystical look) but once you go to the basement, you will start surreal experiences.
** SPOILERS AHEAD **
If you go through the entry of the washroom in the basement, the protagonist gets transported to a surreal white land where you have to find the TV and the tripod looking switch that can turn it on (surreal, again). Once you move past that area, you will start seeing more jumpscares and psychological twists.
While i like the concept, the presentation and scare factor is a bit lacking i think. :/
Great job nonetheless. :)
Thank you so much. The scare factor comes after you complete the white area and you start looking into the mirror. But thank you.
While the visuals were incredible, the movement drove me up a wall. Since I could only move one cube at a time, it felt so unresponsive when I would have to wait until I finished moving left to move up. It was also very confusing and undirected, taking me quite a while to figure out where to go or what to do.
Thank you for your feedback. If you are using a keyboard you can use WSAD and if you are using a mobile device you can tap on the destination tile. The original idea was to make it look confusing because the main protagonist is going crazy due to isolation, and hence the confusion.
It could have also been me being incapable of pathfinding lol. Definitely a pretty game though, best of luck!
