  • Gameplay Mechanics and Engagement: While web-swinging is a fun concept, the way it was implemented made it rather stiff and frustrating to use. It really took me out of the game, as I was not as immersed as one should be in a Spider-Man game. Creativity of Concept/Game: The game didn't seem to have anything to do with two-button controls, having 3 keyboard inputs and no apparent storyline. Visuals, Audio, and Design: The sounds were not edited properly, so I was clearly able to hear that they were imported. However that's not my main complaint, as importing audio is perfectly fine and is something I also do at times. However, the sound effects were very unrelated to anything about Spider-Man, and they sounded rather cheap and irrelevant. The lack of music also took me out of the immersion of the game. As for the visuals, nothing about them is cohesive, with the background being a crop of a drawing, the places to swing from being differently-colored squares, and the other sprites not being in the same art style. It was very hard to visually follow what was going on. Finally, it's unclear as to what the objective of the game is meant to be, detracting from whatever the intended game design was supposed to be. User-friendly Interface: To put it briefly, there was no interface, and the interface that was present was some extremely basic Arial text that didn't communicate much. Bugs: The swinging in the game seemed to be rather buggy, with the fact that the shooters moved strangely when swinging from side to side; which is a problem because that's a decent chunk of even the first level. Additionally, when completing certain levels, the gate can technically be opened from both sides, when it's only supposed to be opened from the bottom. The main detraction would be the lack of relevance to the theme, so it would be great to keep that in mind for next time and then build everything around that. Cheers!
