If not can you make up one just for me so i will have a starting point, and maybe a limitation as well?
Hey thank you for asking this question!!
This jam is intended to accompany a livestream I host on YouTube via Hyper Game Dev -- the topic is decided and announced in the first 10-15 minutes, based on suggestions from the chat or whatever I can come up with on the spot (to help weed out any pre-jam development).
Since the itch.io page needs to be up before I go live however, the jam theme isn't present right away. Usually the participants find the jam through the video first, so the topic is already known (I pin it in the livestream chat).
But lately folks like you have been finding it on itch before seeing the livestream! So because of that I'm going to make it a priority to update the itch page while I'm live with the topic so that you'll know what to make.
I spend the first hour or so of the jam/livestream working on my own entry, and then check out all the submissions (if they seem to be made for the jam of course).
So watching the livestream isn't required, but if you want feedback on your submission, the livestream is the best way to find it!
If devs like yourself do want to participate without coming to the livestream fist (or at all), I will definitely make the effort to provide feedback here on itch after the jam is finished -- I could even cut out a clip and attach it to the comment.
But the jam is non-ranked, so there are no winners or anything. It's just an exercise to discover what's possible under a short time pressure! And to show off what we can do in such a small amount of time.
Thank you again for your interest -- happy game devving 馃榿
