As a frequent goer to escape rooms, I really enjoyed playing this game! I think the puzzles were challenging, but not impossible - I managed to complete the game :) I also really liked the style choices; the music, voice acting, sound effects, and environment all work together harmoniously to give off an eerie vibe. The voice acting is done very nicely, the theme is present, and I appreciate the English translation (also well done). I think it's incredible that you made all the assets yourself! As someone who has never made anything in 3D I think that it's amazing you designed all the objects in this house!
The puzzles were unique and well done. I did get stuck on the one that unlocks the staircase for a bit. It's a tiny bit confusing because the globes are used twice and I was fixated on finding the "four electrical links" at first. But turns out that is the next step! The images that appear above the planets disappear quite fast too.
It was a very fun game and I felt like I was in a real-life escape room! Thank you for the experience!
Amazing work!
You have used one of my favorite games (The 7th Guest) as a reference and you do it masterfully. The recreation of the house, the movement of the camera, the puzzles... it's fantastic!
And if that wasn't enough, you've also used Zork Nemesis, hahaha, it was a lot of fun to play!
Congratulations!! 👏
Your comment makes me happy, both for the positive words you write there, and for learning that you appreciate The 7th Guest (and know Zork Nemesis). The fact that you recognize these inspirations in my game is all the more important since you know and are sensitive to these so little known universes. I hope you have been able to progress well in this game, because the logic is not always easy to grasp. Anyway, thanks to you ^ _ ^
Congrats for your submission in due time for the Jam, Yaz!! I was looking forward to play your game in this Sunday afternoon, to enjoy a post-jam rest day and to recover after these exhausting 3 weeks, while at the same time enjoying the all newly created games by the participants! I haven't been disappointed by the world of your game Projet Z. The graphics, story and affinity with the theme are very good. The soundtrack was nice, with a very funny voice acting (well done in 3 weeks to add voice over!).
This game is a "new beginning" to Zork. I found the symbols required by the theme of the Jam, and it's a nice tribute to these 2 games that you loved: Zork Nemesis and The 7th Guest. Well done! Unfortunately for me, I'm not good at solving that kind of logical puzzles, so despite trying my best I found that they were very very veeeeeeery difficult for me! I had to ask for your help, I must admit.
In the end it was way too hard for my limited brain, but nevertheless a very good game for the fans of the genre. You should share it on adventure games forums where passionate players can try to solve it. They will understand exactly what you did here.
You can be proud: good old adventure games continue to survive through you, and this projet Z is a beautiful tribute to them! :)
Thank you for the comment. It is true that I really enjoyed playing comedy, for the audio part. Afterwards, as you suspected, I was going to put in a few moments of reflection, as usual. Specially when you see the games used as a reference. Like I said, I thought I made it simple, and I'm sorry for the experience that was more exhausting than expected for you. It's funny how easily you imagine complex elements for your own games, but how much you get stuck when playing puzzle games.^_^ Despite everything, I hope that the short walk in the hall of Vice-Regent Syovar's mansion has not made you feel discouraged by discovering the fabulous Zork Nemesis game one day ! ^ _ ^ Thanks again for playing my game !
Actually I have downloaded Zork Nemesis from Abandonware France :) If I have the time during Christmas holidays...
Your game remained a very interesting experience for me, and I see all the love and efforts that you put into it! It's just my brain that doesn't work with the logic of your puzzles ^^
Eh, I really dig the stylistic choices there. The game just looks good overall. The gameplay could be better tho.
