Dying here would severe the constant anticipation. But what I found in this place was much worse than life or death.

The atmosphere in the game is very well done. The sound, lights and visuals were woven together to give a really cool feeling, making me tense and uptight about everything even though there weren't many critters to worry about. It did a great job showing a small chunk of what could be a much larger game. I would have liked a bit of a bigger inventory, personally, and I wasn't a fan of the controls, and how clunky the attacking was (having to ready before attacking felt a bit eh) but otherwise the game was really nice.

The atmosphere is what really drew me in for this entry. The graphics, sound, and even just the floating text tutorials all came together to make a wonderfully tight package. It's a shame it's so short, I'd have love to have played longer! I do agree with jacksmack that the tutorial for how to use the axe wasn't very clear; it only taught us how to ready the axe and not actually swing it. Once I managed to get past that part though, everything went a lot smoother.

Congrats on making it into the top 10; if you expand this game, I'll be sure to check it out.

This was really well done. I don't wanna write a review, cause I can't seem to write anything well written these days, but I do wanna share my thoughts: I really liked this game, It reminds of what silent hill 4 was trying to do with their stronger focus on melee combat earlier, only better, I like how you have to hold ctrl, to wield the axe, so it's a little bit unwieldy - like you can't turn around if someone's coming up behind you, so it's lot scarier. I also, like how, unlike a typical survive horror game, it doesn't have jump scares, like you seem to build tension, by just using a set of these really strong, but simple, and very effective sounds - like it's not noisy static stuff like from silent hill. It's like, normal every day sounds, like nails falling in an empty room, that kind of stuff and it's scary cause of what it remind us of.

I wish there were more weapons, I wish it was longer. I wish there were more bosses. There's this really cool established atmosphere and theme of isolation in your games, like it's not quite silent hill and it's not quite demon souls, it's not complete isolation or desolation, it's somewhere in-between and that's where this gets interesting. Like, it'd be really cool if you could make a game, where you could really explore that and tie it together with a story or something, not something concrete, but something that just loosely ties it all together, so it feels like a cohesive experience, cause this was some really good stuff.

But yeah, this was really cool. I wasn't expecting this.

Really scary and mysterious, nice graphic and theme, I wish there is more level to it.

Well done. The visual fits the game so well. Good job. ☕

I liked it. Good atmosphere, and got a good sense of dread to build up.   I liked being able to pick up the traps and use them later.

I thought the doors were a bit hard to pick out when they were on the sides of the room.  Maybe call them out visually a bit more.  The instructions were incorrect at the beginning I think.  At least it felt off when I tried swinging the axe the first few times.

I thought the enemies at the end were a bit to easy because they went on the spike traps.   Would have been way worse if you made the spike traps solid for them so they would just wait for you to come back out or something.

Overall this is really well done.

Really nice. Made me panic a little but not enough to want to tear my hair out. The art is really good all over, and I'm curious about the story of it all.

What an awesome experience. Movement feels heavy, but perfectly balanced. The layout is intuitive, the inventory limitation makes the resource management a big deal, but not to the point of being frustrating.

Really liked the way the game flows, we never feel lost or bored - it's a kinda short game, but shows everything that needs to be shown.
