Great concept. I don't think you get enough moment when you start swinging. I wan't to be able to grab hold, swing near the apex send the other hook, let go of the first, repeat. (Maybe it can be done and I held on too long but after several tries I was unable to make it a nice continuous movement.)
Glad to hear you like the concept! I think I do what you're talking about in this video from my twitter:

I admit, it's a bit hard to get used to. But fun when you do. If I make a fuller version of this game, I plan to gradually introduce concepts so you feel like a grappling pro once you start to get a feel for it. Thanks for playing!
Yeah after I posted. I saw a let's play with someone doing that. Probably should have tried with a mouse instead of my trackpad.
Fun concept and idea, and I like swinging around like Spiderman (also the grapple color is red and blue), I wish I could damage the enemy other than swinging into them, maybe pulling them toward me while punching them? idk, it's just an idea. Anyway, I hope you keep developing this game.
Thanks for the idea. Yea I'm thinking about toying around with some other mechanics. I'm glad you had fun with what I have so far, definitely want to continue working on this.
Your combat is too finicky. If you plan to put enemies in, I recommend focusing on avoiding them rather than swinging into them. Also, the "slingshot" mechanic doesn't seem to work properly.
I was thinking about making the enemies bigger so it doesn't feel so finicky where you either miss the enemy or hit the floor so it's nice to hear my suspicions being correct. I also feel like I should explain the slingshot mechanic better for next time as I noticed a lot of people either not pulling back or not holding down the spacebar. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing~
I like this. It is really hard to control around some of these spikes. I would have started off teaching players how to use the hooks in a safer location. I kept having to redo the early part of the level over and over again until I realized I could get across the gap by hooking both hooks and inching across without swinging.
