This was well written and compelling. The time skips made it feel much bigger as you imagine your friends living there lives while you toil away on your monster. Good job!
Thank you so much!!
This was a very raw and honest piece that I could recognize - especially after having just cancelled most plans this weekend due to running myself dry on the previous one (for reasons you're probably familiar with!)
Normally I'd talk about how I'd experienced each of the sections I'd gone through, but I think that it's hard to talk about what you've made separate from the whole, and also very personal. The most I can say is that playing through your piece felt very meaningful and caused some introspection.
SPOILERS
The only thing I wondered about is how the game could have changed towards the end based on my last response - though I knew it somehow to be the "wrong" one, I decided to follow through and build the monster - then I felt instant regret; but maybe that was the purpose in the end.
The emotional spend of playing through the game gave me a pause at trying again. I might give it another shot later on.
Thank you!! I had a lot of themes and ideas I wanted to include, so I'm happy to hear it made for a cohesive experience.
SPOILERS
There are two not-so-great endings and one not-so-bad ending. I didn't have time to give the endings the complexity I had originally envisioned, but I'm hoping to modify / add to them after the jam. But yeah, overall I was aiming for regret / dissatisfaction.
I loved this.
thank you!!!
What's that Maya Angelo quote...something like "people will forget what you did but will never forget how you make them feel." You've achieved that kind of impact here. And as a maker myself, I (and my friends) can relate to much of this. Well done.
thank you so much!! this was really special to hear!
loved the writing and narration, really impressive for the time constraint of the jam. The writer really knows how to pack an emotional punch - I honestly spent a lot of time deciding between the options offered.
Always had me invested in what would happen next, and really connected to all the characters, making the protag's battle between work and socializing challenging. ngl this one got me very emotional, and might've cried a few times!
wow thank you so much!!! i'm so glad you enjoyed it! hearing this really means a lot
This is quite sweet. It's a very simple style, but that's appropriate to the story you are telling. The message about work-life balance is pretty overt, but it's a good message. I enjoyed it overall.
thank you!!
