I really like how well the sacrifice mechanic is implemented in this one, it feels essential since melee is really hard. I also really like how complete the game feels and it was overall a really fun experience.

I will say that the climbing was a bit confusing, but that's probably a skill issue on my part though animations that emphasize when you can and can't climb would help. Also, I think the mixed resolutions in the art makes it look less cohesive, and making all the pixels the same size in game and using a palette would serve the game well in terms of aesthetics.

And while there are a few other issues, I think most of those are minor enough that it'll probably be smoothed out as you continue making stuff

Though if I had to point out one bigger issue, it's that the physics are a bit weird, specifically the gravity and air resistance, you lose a lot of speed when you jump which doesn't feel great and it's also very floaty. The gravity or mass of the player is too low and it makes it feel like the character doesn't have much weight.

Thank you for the great feedback! I joined late and did have the time to redo to much. the slow air movement was intentional but doesn't seem to be popular, so Ill remove it. there are quite a few mechanics that I didn't have time to make as clear as I would have liked. for example. the minions you create have a purpose to restore the players health and they die after healing the player to many times. but if you let them eat the fallen guards they can heal you more.

I will continue to add a few updates to this project to get it to a more polished state.

Controls are very clunky.
