Fun little game :) You have picked fitting music and sounds for the game, so it's really enjoyable to roam around the swamp searching for
Shrekclues.Hahahah, this game could actually be so fun for reasons other than the game itself. I could totally see this being used for betting amongst friends. I mean, if you think about it, the idea that you could get all but 1 crate and still technically be wrong because of bad luck is actually kind of bad gameplay design in a sense. It doesn't directly reward player skill or performance. But as a game of chance? Brilliant!
Yeah tried to get the item balance working but its all kinda random with just a little bit control over the crate contents, but obviously not enough. Spent too long trying to tweak it before I left it to finish the rest of the game. There's even a bug where you can have two of the suspects have the same item!
Hey, like I said, if you're willing to call it a game of chance, then it's a very good one. In my experience, very few video gamers enjoy a game being presented as a skill game, when it's really down to luck, even if they can influence that luck. Like they may find it enjoyable when they win, but you just know the instant they lose because of bad luck, they're going to hate the game. However, if you lean into the fact that it's a game of chance, and you market it as a funny game to play with close friends and settle bets and stuff, then it's absolutely perfect for that. I could see this being hilarious for streamers if it were online and they were able to host games with their viewers and things like that.
