I enjoyed the classic GB aesthetic, though some of the sprites seem a bit rough. Also, the music seemed to loop a bit too often without any other tracks to break up the main theme. Apart from that, I liked how lively the town felt! Having so many interactions with characters and objects really added to overall tone.
Cool lil rpg!
The one recommendation I would give is adding another song or two, especially when you start approaching the Kaiju, to help set the mood! The loop is kinda small and I believe there's other stock music for gbstudio?
Yeah the music was definitely a down to the wire. oh no! I haven't considered this! But once the Jam is over I'll be bedazzling this ol game some more. :)
Nice little adventure!
GB Studio has a great export to HTML5!
It is even mobile-friendly. I bet you could get more feedback if you made an build with that (just don't add a whole bunch of content)
I really like the kaiju design at the end, and your title screen is amazing for a Game Boy! :)
I think there is a different way to do the dialogue boxes so that they don't go all the way down each time a new line happened. But awesome start!
Thanks so much! And I have done the HTML5 too now. Thank you for your kind words. This was my first experience with GB Studio and absolutely loved it and can't wait to explore it more without the time constraint haha. :)
