Okay because all the other went into detail with the problems I probably dont have to say anything about that and can only talk about the good parts. The map design is super nice! It looks just beautiful!

For the programming part just keep on learning and you will get there in no time!

Thank you! I don't consider myself very good at level/map design, so I'm glad the town turned out nicely (not too fond of interior section, though. lol)!

Congrats on submitting a game for your first solo game jam, that's a huge accomplishment! I know it's tough making a game in a short time; this was also my first jam too, so I also found working under a time limit super challenging, so kudos for making a submission!

In regards to feedback, I think something that could be worked on is the movement controls, as it felt like I was controlling a character on ice instead of moving them normally. It felt like there was an acceleration system, but for a simple top down game like this, you could probably get away with moving at constant speed in any direction, that way the player feels like they're under control of their movement. Interestingly enough, after I got used to it I had some fun with the high acceleration and trying to move around efficiently lol, that movement style could be its own game!

I thought the idea of adding colors to the world as you progressed was a nice touch, and what you implemented in the second half could be cool to expand on; maybe there could be multiple sections of this house that you could explore and look for keys/doors in. That way there could be more content and areas to move around in.

Hopefully that doesn't come off as harsh and sounds more constructive instead, because to me, overall this is a very solid entry for your first jam game! Keep up the good work, you're definitely making great progress!

Thank you, and this wasn't harsh at all!
I'm actually working on the game (for myself) so that I can improve on things like the movement, interior layout, actually adding sound (lol), and some other things that I wanted to add but didn't get a chance to.

Not a bad effort at all for your first solo game jam! Great start!

Thank you so much!

neat game - good job keep going - player feels like it is walking on ice.

Developer

Thank you!

cool take on theme. few things can be improved mainly movement, current it feels like controlling a spaceship in zero gravity, add a bgm.

Congrats on completing your 2nd game jam : )

Developer

Thank you! Sorry, but what does "bgm" mean?

Background Music

Ah okay, that makes sense now. lol

Cool game. :)

Thank you!

The world was pretty fun to explore. The controls made it a bit difficult to get around tight corridors, though.

Developer

Thank you! I'll definitely work on improving controls.

The controls were a bit weird but I really liked the concept of the world changing from black and white to colorful. Also some background music would have been nice. For a first solo game jam this is already really good, keep it up! :)

Developer

Thank you very much! The encouragement is very much appreciated!
