Thanks for the kind words and criticisms guys,
I'm new to making games,
My business is making game art,
But i am refining this (Have added the difficulty, Another Enemy and it is going through a reskin)
Will keep you all posted
Personally I thought the art was pretty cute (says the guy that used pixel art lol). I did notice the difficulty increase slightly after a score of 45 (maybe the RNG decided to give me more ships?) but I think a gradual increase in difficulty would have made it much better. The cannon cooldown time hardly even mattered as well. I stopped after reaching a score of 100. I can see this being an interesting mobile game if you expanded and refined the game more :)
Just a quick reminder to everyone that the Theme rating is not how well the game matches the jams theme (which is optional), but how much you like and how coheisve the games own theme that it develops within it is. Onto the feedback.
Not bad for what I assume is one of if not your very first jams. You've got a solid idea and lots of room to expand into. As others have said it'd be a good start to make them spawn faster and move faster as your score gets higher. Only thing that threw me off a little bit is that the wave animation could use a few more frames, but I understand the limited time aspect.
Thanks for the Comments Guys,
Unfortunately i did run out of time,
And to get it playable at the last second,
I had to ditch the waves and difficulty and menu etc,
All in all was a fun jam,
And i will build onto this (Probably retheme though) :)
I wouldn't say that it fits theme very good, because history of cannons starts from X - XIII centuries (:
The game itself is playable, but it's too simple: difficulty is always the same. Plus game is absolutely silent.
No sound sadly. The art isn't spectacular but it matches the theme. The game matches the theme fine. Gameplay gets stale VERY quickly, it would be easily improved if the longer you played, the faster they spawned. In general, I wasn't too happy with this one.
