Did you work in a team?
Solo dev, code and art, it was good fun! During the game jam I've been super busy at work :( But I think if I worked on the game the entire time, I probably would have gotten bored?

Was the resolution a challenge?
I went through a few different ideas, and did a lot of math and theory on how to fit different panels into the pixel restrictions, what kind of game play mechanics and user input would alter that. My solution to each was found in minimizing the playable area, shrinking art assets, but ultimately I scrapped the original mechanics like procedural generation, a 3x3 area layout, and made a more traditional movement scheme.

What did you learn?
Before the waste of time doing my 4 year Bachelor of IT course, I have made hundreds of prototypes. But now that I've finished the horror of Uni, I want to get back into games, and this was very good inspiration for finally starting to get my games out there. And with the pandemic, and people blogging a lot more, I thought that "why not" and do the same.

The artwork in this game is great! Perhaps it was just my download, but the lack of sound was a little disappointing. But no sound is better than bad sound. That being said, this was a very cool and polished experience. Well done.

Thanks!  I never even considered sound until the night before submission...

I love that this is such a richly detailed game to make in such a short amount of time and you accomplished a lot with those few pixels. I found that the auto-combat was not as satisfying as it could be and I could not figure out how to go through doors... though that's probably my fault. Would definitely be interested to see this project develop.

Ha thanks, yeah there were definitely a lot of missing features, like different areas, manual combat and interactive objects, a village, npcs...  Thanks for playing!
