Did you work in a team?
One mostly with little help from game designer friend. Really fun experience overall

Was the resolution a challenge?
Really difficult to explain what is happening in the screen, and every action you can perform without using text or tutorials. I used icons for mostly everything but still far from I was hoping.

What did you learn?
I have never worked with isometric maps on Godot before, so that was a first approach to something new. I would really love to dig deeper on isometric games so this was really helpful

I was already afraid that the Kaiju has too many lives and that I can't defeat it, when it suddenly died! I won for the second attempt. I think that there should be the opportunity to repair the blue building. Otherwise good music and good game!

This game is great fun with lots of potential for future maps and monsters! Really amazing that isometric can be done so well at this resolution, I didn't realize it was possible before this game.

Glad you enjoyed it :D Thanks for playing!

Wow! Cool style! That game shows how much you can reach with such hard restrictions. Loved it.

The art is decent. The gameplay took a short while to understand the mechanics even after reading the description. I tried to be strategic and hide the building behind the vehicles for defense which seemed to work fine but wasn't able to defeat the enemy. Does the beam always do damage on the blue building regardless of where you place the others on the map?

Developer

Hey! Thanks for playing! :) The art is an 8 color palette for extra limitations for myself. And yes, you can hide your blue house behind a yellow house but only for a while, when the monster is close to the house hits it every time. The secret, planes & tanks.

Yay! I saved the world!

It took me a while to realize I could left-click several times to cycle through different kinds of buildings, but once that clicked in my head I had fun devising a strategy to blow up the Kaiju.

Great entry!

Nice game, and a hard challenge. Could use some styling but gfx work for the resolution and theme. Nice SFX and music go well with the game flow. Overall a great entry!

Thanks for playing! I did the best I can with my artistic skills haha. Glad you enjoyed the experience! :D

And they look nice ;) but coloring is a bit flat, which is not something particuarly bad. It’s just my internal pixel-artist asking for more shadnig to match more my styel :P

Developer

I’ve also limited myself to 8 colors (Matriax8c Palette) so I didn’t have much to choose from :P I’d love to see kaiju fanart some day haha. Thanks again for playing :)

uhhh that’s a very restrictive palette, no available ramps…
