Nice game! feels fun. I included it in my compilation video series of the Low Rez Jam games, if you would like to take a look :)
@Fissurefury Thanks for the feedback. And you are right, I need more secrets. I really want to explore the idea of secret stages :)
I really started to enjoy it when I got my hands on the yellow and red cars, they were nuts to drive at that resolution! I would prefer the view space of the blue car because I had the best time figuring out where I was going. It was smart to put 2+ turn arrows directly on the track before a turn came up, especially for times when the road fills up the entire screen. The engine sounds was a bit too loud early on but I didn't mind it later. The last track almost felt ominous and I hit the houses along the top when it seemed like I shouldn't. I hit random several times to see the sun, cow, and fruit. I felt like something hidden or a bonus could be snuck in somewhere! Otherwise, I enjoyed it.
@Delca Thanks! This is my first game that I made completely from scratch, I was aiming for a fun experience on top of everything else. I was actually planning to release an extra stage at some point where you are on foot, might improve it after the jam. Thanks for trying it out!
I really liked the way the car handles, feels very good to play! But I could not get past the reverse loop stage, I keep smashing myself across the walls. Add the nice graphics and music/sounds on top of that, and you have a perfect submission for this jam; great work!
Thanks for the feedback guys. @stuartlangridge I explore the car mechanics more in later stages, don't want to spoil anything though :)
The car handles excellently -- the first level is so easy to pass that I was already thinking of recommending more realistic movement (rather than being able to turn instantly), and then the second level (which is just the same idea, with a larger oval) is much much harder to pass in the time! So I think the difficulty curve is just about right, and the graphics are good; nice work!
Nice, the car actually handled really well, it was fun to race around the tracks.
Job well done.
