I included this game in the part 2 of my #LOWREZJAM summary.
@Woldy
Turning the lights on with an active terminal will stop the ghost from chasing the robot and stop the ghosts from possessing the human (the shadows). It's important to keep the lights on enough to reduce possessions, while making sure you have enough terminals left to turn on 5 generators as the human.
The shadows are a death sentence for the human if you make a single mistake. It is harder than I intended but acts as a way to challenge you further if you want to maximize your efficiency, and enforce the need to keep the lights on.
There is another segment of the game left after power is restored and the ghosts disappear forever, plus a boss battle :)
Damn, I didn't expect it to be as scary as it is. The sounds put me on edge and the scary shadow thing is unsettling. I haven't got past the first shadow, I assume there are more obsticales.
Disclosure: I am a personal friend of this developer.
Great atmospheric game. It feels like a lot of attention was paid to in what's there - even though the human is barely more than ten pixels the way he moves is so fluid and he has little boots that light up. I like that in contrast to the horror there is this comedic feeling to how the robot operations, looking and acting like something from a b-grade sci-fi show in the 60s. It also says a lot about how the sound is used in this game when even though it's public domain it feels very much like this is the game it belongs to.
A tense and sometimes charming experience. I wish I was better at it though, I usually get whacked after three or so terminals and I really want to see what lies further in the game.
Controls were a bit sticky, but it felt exploratory. ^^; Sorry I didn't play for too long, but I liked what I saw so far! Swap mechanic was interesting, too. :3
Reminded me of Flashback, and that's always a good thing! In terms of movement and platforming in general (yes, it's different, but still does feel somewhat familiar). You got the atmosphere on point, too!
Played a bit and found the game to be pretty difficult (the human character has a lot of momentum, the terminals keep blowing up and the shadows catch up with me - totally didn't expect that the first time I tried).
Liked the "tutorial" a lot - it was both unintrusive and helpful, which is sometimes lacking in games made for this jam, but I think you've done it right.
All in all, a great immersive experience with a very real sense of danger, with a little bit too much of oil spilled on the floors, judging by the human character!
Wow, this is really a creepy game! Nice atmosphere! Has a little bit of Metroid / Doctor Who vibe.
Really nice achievement for a game with this simple graphics. It can be very immersive.
Really neat idea! I included it in my compilation video series of the Low Rez Jam games, if you would like to take a look :)
