RPGDF presents:

March of the Wizards! A game jam about the arcane, the heretical, the eldritch! Cast aside your compunctions and crack open those grimoires!

Keeping up the momentum from January's #ReCo2k19 & February's #FF2k19, we here at the RPG Design Friends are simply ecstatic to sally forth once again into game development with #WizJam2k19!

Our Jam Guide Lines are as follows:

  • Create a game (text, tabletop, video, or otherwise) about magic! If the word wizard is not to your liking, may we suggest the alternatives acolyte, witch, mage, or sorceress? Perhaps conjurer or esper or thaumaturge or summoner or evoker or psion? Pick something magical, something mystical! Break the chains of reality and allow yourself to become a conduit for power!
  • Don't make this about hiding magic or preserving the mundane. Fuck normal, be amazing! Become lightning and glitter and the dread clouds of darkness!

Want an extra challenge? Try meeting these completely optional goals!

  • Write a game about magic in a specific context, such as construction or revolution or entertainment.
  • Write a game with at least two different magical philosophies and approaches.
  • The Nora Blake Special: write a game that can be played with a single d6 passed between players.
  • And, of course, bonus points for every terrible pun you include.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to @ or DM me on Twitter at @NeitherNora!

This game jam is hosted by the RPG Design Friends as part of Twelve Months Twelve Jams (#12jam). We stand for inclusion, diversity, and community, and seek to foster game design that support those things. While this jam invites creators from all ages, genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds to participate, we aim to amplify the voices of creators of color, black creators, and LGBT+ game designers of any and all experience levels.
