The visuals and play here are decent especially if you're going for a Gameboy-style thing; the music does need some work; that music sounds like it would be good for a messed up dream sequence but seems off key for what's happening here.

I had the same glitch others did where you disappear if you leave a room right after going in. Other than that, the game was fine. The ladder climbing and shooting felt good. Obviously a very short game so not much to talk about. Don't take any offense to that, I had even less content in my game than you did! The graphics were good for their style but the color scheme wasn't very attractive. The music was acceptable for a few minutes but would have been bad for any longer. I'd be interested in seeing more, but it seems like there wasn't enough to time to make much content, just like it was for my game.

liked whats going on visually

not the biggest fan of the music

maybe its not long enough to tell but it feels like its got the kind of weapon you could just spam to win, maybe could use a cool down or something
the story seems promising as well

I liked the retro look and play.  I had some issues with transitions between the rooms a couple times.  The player character got lost and didn't show up on the screen and had to restart.  Another similar thing happened when I climbed a ladder and fell right as the transition happened to the next room.

The music loop is a little too short and can quickly get annoying.  I do like that you've added an interface to control the volume, so that helps. :)  I think if you had a longer piece of music, it would improve the audio experience.

I liked the derived sprites from the Castlevania games.  Loved playing many of them and the character's movements felt at home here.  I would have liked to see more of a beginning level, but with time constraints, it's completely understandable.

It's a great start!  Would love to see more in the future.

Well done :) I liked the retro style and color palette. It would be cool to see this built on and see some additional challenges and areas added!

I enjoyed this one, really wish it was longer! I was just starting to get into it a bit and then see the Thank you for Playing haha Only had a month to do this jam so understandable though. This really felt like playing an old Gameboy side scroller, and in a good way. Would be very nice to have a UI of sorts and just fleshed out a bit more.
