The music is great, the art is fantastic! Excellent mood, and I think that it's very good for being made in a month.
I like the idea, but I would give a little more time on the falling platforms
TL;DR: Great for a short indie linear metroidvania (emphasis on short and linear.)
I really enjoyed Locust Boulder, although it was pretty short. One thing I particularly liked was the versatility of the players abilities. The dash can be used to hit enemies *or* navigate the air. The laser gun can be used to break blocks *or* hit enemies. These mechanics are explored thoroughly through many interesting levels.
However, the map is pretty linear. Basically, you get through the beginning of the map, maybe see one blocked passage, and then get the laser gun and you can get through the blocked passage, and go to the boss. This isn't really in the metroidvania spirit, I would love to see many branching paths.
Overall, I loved playing and I would love to see expanded.
