This game looks and plays pretty well!

I'm wary of piling on because I know others have also noted this, but coyote time should not be a requirement to make jumps that early--to be clear, I've made harder-than-intended platforming myself, so I know how it goes!

I wasn't sure where to go after getting the unspecified weapon upgrade in the mines, which is about where my journey came to an end.

The broom powerup and its uses world-design-wise were pretty excellent.

I was looking forward to playing this game :D Looks awesome and the music is very nice. However, platforming is super super difficult and I feel that in some case too punishing. I wish there were checkpoints (or more checkpoints, I haven't seen any). I've only got past skeleton boss in the cavern, but what I saw to that point pleasant to eyes and ears, but overly difficult.

I am deeply sorry that I unintentionally made punishingly difficult platforming for this game. I want to update the game after the voting period ends with hopefully easier platforming so people can actually play it in full and see what I’ve done.

I’ve also noticed the tutorial doesn’t show up. That was a very dumb mistake in my part (I deactivated the object so I could do some promotional art and forgot to activate it).

Again, I’m sorry about that.

Cool looks!

Nice that you added coyote time. Less nice that it's impossible to make the first jump without jumping from mid air using that coyote time. Also, the spikes all over the place made me simply turn it off.

I really enjoyed the environment, very nice choice in music.  Those platforming sections right at the start are tough!  Also, I get that it is optimized for controller, but having KB/M controls easily available would be nice.  nice work!

Developer

Thank you :)

It’s not only that it’s optimized for controller, it’s just that I didn’t want to go through the hassle of differentiating between controller and keyboard controls in the UI.

Lovely graphics, especially the environment. I want to roll around in that soft grass! Also lovely music.

The difficult jumps start very early, and even after a couple dozen tries I wasn't able to get good enough to get very far.

It would be helpful to post the controls on the game page itself. Ideally this should explain what each button does, not just which key corresponds to which gamepad button.

I’m glad you liked the graphics and the music! :)

I couldn’t get enough people to playtest the platforming and I didn’t know it was this hard. Unfortunately, I cannot say anything more encouraging than “git gud”.

I don’t know why I would do that since there’s an in-game tutorial that appears when needed.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback and I hope you can check out the rest of the game, there’s quite a lot of stuff in there ;)

Yes, I had the same challenge! I played my game so much that I got too good at it, and the result was that it ended up harder than I intended it to be. :)

Still, these are learning projects above all, so hopefully we both learned a lot making them. :)
